I See Trouble When she leaves a room A room lies in ruin So nonchalant I know what she’s doin’ When she smiles at me I see the gears turnin’ I may be slow But baby I’m learnin’ I see trouble When she calls my name I know that I’m through ‘cause I got no defense For what a woman can do When she talks about love She’ already plannin’ A little flower garden And a house to put a man in I see trouble Trouble for the rest of my life I see trouble Trouble for the rest of my life When she kisses my lips A man lies in ruin A logical progression When you know what you’re doin’ When she talks about love It’s already decided Who sleeps on what side And how the closets are divided I See trouble Trouble for the rest of my life I see trouble Trouble for the rest of my life She’s counting on me to have a one-track mind ‘cause she knows every man is the marrying kind

Oh Johnny Why I was talking with Johnny Walker ‘bout why I been so low How I aint got no one to love me No place to call my own How the devil conned my mama To spite her only son ‘cause she never will forgive me For things I aint never done Oh Johnny why Oh Johnny why Oh Johnny why Why do they treat me this way Me and Johnny was reminiscing ‘bout the way things used to be When I made love to my baby She said there aint nobody but me She said aint no way no body Could treat her like I do But I took her love for granted Now my baby is untrue I was talking with Johnny Walker He’s been my only friend He’ll stand by me forever At least until the end He calms me when I’m troubled He helps me carry on Everyday I need his courage ‘cause all of mine is gone

I Live A Good Life One that love I love don’t love me at all She just want a man who’s dark and tall I make the same mistake every now and again I haven’t had a clue since I don’t know when But I live a good life Yeah I live a good life My judgment aint so hot But like it or not I live a good life IRS is knockin’ at my door Gave ‘em all my money couple years before The postman confirms what I already knew The lights shut off tomorrow and the rent’s past due But I live a good life Yeah I live a good life When all’s said and done I’m the one having fun I live a good life Yeah I live a good life You know I live a good life I live a good life I live a good life Oh by the way have I told you today I live a good life People they admire the things that I have done They make a point to tell me that I’m the lucky one If one man’s ceiling is another man’s floor Sure got a lot to be thankful for ‘cause I live a good life Yeah I live a good life My judgment aint so hot But like it or not I live a good life

about

Continental Records of Holland renamed the acoustic album "I See Trouble" after the song of the same name and used a new photo by David Wilds for the cover. "I See Trouble" put my career back on track in Europe. Critics liked it. Fans liked it. Even the record company liked it. I was on tour in support of the new CD when I heard that "I See Trouble" was voted Best Acoustic Blues Album of the Year in South Shields, England. Kooky.

In '96 and '97 I performed in Spain, Italy, Slavania, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, England and Scotland as well as my regular stomping grounds in Holland, Belgium and France.

I came home from that tour with a sense that I had really accomplished something. Now all I had to do was come up with my strongest album to date and the world would be mine.
