When I was 16 years old I had a summer job clearing fire-trail and cleaning creek up in the mountains around Oak Ridge, Oregon. It's a hard job and paid really good for a high school kid. When I saw this '67 El Camino for sale for $1200 I just had to have it. The only problem was I had only saved $800 over the summer. No problem. Dad came through with the rest of the money. He was proud that I could work such a hard job all summer and besides, mom and the girls wanted the station wagon back.

Big Block Rock
I got a Chevy El Camino with oversize tires
I got a 4-speed tranny secured by bailing wire
It’s got a rough spot here and a ding or two
Well come on pretty baby let’s see what she can do
Got a big block motor baby
Got a big block motor girl
Come on baby do you want to go
My big block Chevy got bucket seats
I got a 120 watts dig that big rock beat
It’s got a blueprint baby ‘cause it aint stock
Man come on let’s take a spin around the block
Got a big block motor baby
Got a big block motor girl
Come on baby don’t you want to go
Big block I’m ready to rock
Big block I’m ready to rock
Big block I’m ready to rock
Big block I’m ready to rock
Big block
Hey! Big block big block rock
I got the back jacked up ‘cause it looks so cool
I’m gonna slam the gears past my old high school
There’ a ’69 GTO and he’s ready to duel
I said hang on to that pink slip man don’t you be no fool
